Accurascale announced plans to produce a new Scottish variant of its ‘OO’ gauge Class 37/0 at Model Rail Scotland in Glasgow on February 21.
Four new models are planned which will incorporate the distinctive Scottish car-style headlight to cover 37027 Loch Eil in BR blue with white sill stripe, 37043 Loch Lomond in BR large logo blue, 37026 Shapfell in Railfreight Distribution triple grey and 37051 in Railfreight Metals triple grey.
These latest models will follow Accurascale’s previously announced high specification which includes heavy die-cast metal chassis, five-pole motor, twin flywheels, all-wheel drive and pick-up, directional lighting and 21-pin decoder socket. In addition, each locomotive will feature timeframe specific detailing including fully operational car-style headlight, split headcode nose, plated headcode boxes, original nose grilles, cutaway bufferbeam cowling, oval buffers, fabricated bogies, late English Electric cantrail grilles, variation to roof rivet patterns, miniature snowploughs and more.
Models will be offered in Digital Command Control (DCC) ready or factory fitted DCC sound formats, the latter utilising ESU Loksound 5 sound decoders and a twin-speaker set-up.
Prices are set at £169.99 DCC ready and £259.99 DCC sound-fitted models, with pre-orders being taken now via Accurascale’s website or its network of approved stockists. Delivery is anticipated in late 2020.
