The 2020 Hornby catalogue has been revealed launching the model manufacturer’s 100th anniversary year. This exciting new catalogue features a stunning range of new locomotive and carriage models for ‘OO’ gauge as well as a reproduction model of the original Hornby No. 1 three-rail locomotive for ‘O’ gauge. A special group of collector items has also been developed to celebrate Hornby’s centenary year.
Topping the billing in the steam sector are three new London North Eastern Railway locomotives – the Gresley ‘W1’ 4-6-4 together with the ‘A2/2’ and ‘A2/3’ 4-6-2s, none of which have been available before ready-to-run. They will joined by an equally wanted model of the BR ‘2MT’ 2-6-0 while diesel and electric modellers are set to receive a brand-new Class 91 AC electric as well as an all-new version of the Class 370 APT tilt-train. 2020 will also see Hornby re-make its iconic 1960s period model of Stephenson’s Rocket to modern standards with brand new mouldings and DCC compatibility.
A large number of reliveries are also planned across the range together with a big list of new carriages, wagons, buildings and even a new Smart Phone app for analogue control. Also new for 2020 is a range of Steam Punk themed products to take model railways into a new sector.
