Heljan has revealed a collection of new models in its 2020/2021 catalogue at the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition. Highlights include brand new models the Collett ‘2251’ 0-6-0 and BR Mk 2/Mk 2a carriages in ‘O’ gauge together with the Class 86/4 and 86/6 sub-classes in ‘OO’ gauge.
The ‘2251’ is Heljan’s third ‘O’ gauge Great Western Railway (GWR) steam locomotive and follows on from the ‘61XX’ 2-6-2T and ‘43XX’ 2-6-0. It shares the tender with the ‘Mogul’ and will also feature working inside motion, flicking firebox light, sprung coupling, sprung buffers, wire handrails as well as being DCC and sound ready. The Mk 2s will feature optional sliding or GRP gangway doors to allow modelling of the Mk 2 and Mk 2a variants, detailed interior, sprung couplings and wire handrails. Release of both is expceted in 2021.
In addition Heljan has revealed the livery choices for its ‘O’ gauge re-run of the split headcode Class 37/0 as well as colour schemes for its previously announced all-new ‘OO’ gauge Class 47. It has also revealed a new batch of Class 33/0s in ‘OO’ gauge with high intensity headlights as well as a group of LNER ‘O2’ 2-8-0s to model locomotives with Great Northern Railway cabs and tenders.
