Heljan shows first Class 56 CAD

Heljan has released the first images from its CAD drawing work for the ‘O’ gauge Class 56 Co-Co heavy freight diesel-electric.

The drawings are subject to revisions but show the latest progress on the Type 5. The specification includes space for a smoke unit inside the body as well as a speaker space in the fuel tank/battery box areas. It will also have twin motors, a centrally mounted Printed Circuit Board and LED lightings.

Also confirmed for the model are eteched metal diamond pattern grilles, two cab door handrail options, optional cabside air-condition grille and ‘grid’ below the bufferbeam, an optional NRN aerial for the cab roof  and a full detailed cab interior. The roof fans will also be powered.

Full details of prices, liveries and a release date are to be confirmed.
