Exclusive ‘OO’ Class 25 for TMC

The Model Centre (TMC) has commissioned an exclusive limited production run of Heljan’s forthcoming ‘OO’ gauge Class 25, finished as 25102 in BR two-tone green with full yellow ends (Cat No. 2542).

Entering traffic as D5252 with BR’s London Midland Region in 1964, the Derby-built locomotive went on to become something of a celebrity in the mid-1970s as the last late body design example to carry the two-tone green colour scheme in the BR blue era.

Heljan’s new ‘OO’ gauge model promises all-wheel pick-up and drive, illuminated headcode panels, cab lighting, marker lights, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket and provision for a digital sound speaker. Faithfully replicating the prototype, 25102 will also feature standard BR TOPS numbers painted onto green patches on the cabside, together with unpainted aluminium cabside window frames and BR blue data panels.

Available DCC ready, prices have yet to be confirmed, with TMC also offering a choice of weathering finishes and detailing services, as well as DCC fitted and DCC sound-fitted options too. Delivery is anticipated for late 2019.
