Grindley Brook joins the Great Electric Train Show

Photo: Grindley Brook in 'O' by Hillingdon Railway Modellers.

Hillingdon Railway Modeller’s stunning ‘O’ gauge continuous run mainline layout Grindley Brook will be one of the star attractions at the 2019 Great Electric Train Show on October 12/13. The event takes place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes for the second year running.

Grindley Brook models a London North Western Railway designed station in the British Railways era. It features highly detailed kit built locomotives and rolling stock, stunning scratch built buildings, supremely detailed scenery and more. It will feature in full in the next issue of Hornby Magazine – HM148, on sale September 5 2019.

Minories in ‘EM’ by Tom Cunningham.

Also revealed for the show are Tom Cunningham’s Minories, which models the London suburbs in ‘EM’ gauge; Steve Knight’s busy ‘N’ gauge 2000s era through station Branksdown Junction; John Saunders ‘O’ gauge GWR terminus Penpoll Quay plus Neil Mason’s latest compact ‘OO’ layout Loop Lane. The full 30-layout line-up will be revealed in an exclusive preview in HM148.
More than 50 trade stands have also been confirmed for the event including a new Specialist Trade Zone on Balcony One. This area will be joined by micro layouts plus demonstrations from Mick Bonwick (weathering), David Dovedale (buildings), Wirral Finescale Railway Modellers (wagon building, digital control and ‘P4’ test track) as well as the Double O Gauge Association.
Also new for the 2019 show is Kids Zone offering hands-on activities for younger visitors sponsored by Hornby Hobbies. Children can enter the show for free with a paying adult on Sunday, October 13.
