Hatton’s shows Class 66 first sample

The first engineering samples of Hatton’s new ‘OO’ gauge model of the Class 66 heavy freight diesel have been received. The sample is a fully funcitoning model including full detail and rotating axleboxes.

The first sample models an original build, high emission body with original lights while the underframe has a low emission tank and later sandboxes. Hatton’s development team has already identified areas for improvement on the roof and exhaust.

In total 32 versions are planned covering EWS, Freightliner, GBRf, Colas Rail Freight, DRS and one off colours schemes including 66789 in BR large logo blue and 66783 in Biffa red. The price per model is set at £150 for DCC ready versions with options for DCC fitted (£165) and DCC sound fitted (£265) being available too. The specification includes directional lighting, a 21-pin decoder socket and DCC sound compatibility.
