Hornby reveals LNER ‘Toad’ first shots

The first engineering samples of Hornby’s new LNER ‘Toad’ four-wheel brake van have been received offering a first glimpse of how the final model will look. The samples are currently being assessed by Hornby’s engineers before proceeding to the decoration stage of the production process.

Four versions are planned for release in the model’s debut year (Cat Nos. R6833/A and R6834/A) covering the ‘Toad B’ and ‘Toad E’ variants respectively. Liveries will cover LNER and BR period schemes with exact details to be announced. The ‘Toad’ also featured turned metal wheels and NEM coupling pockets.

Prices are set at £21.99 per van with release expected in autumn 2018.
