Rails commissions all-new ‘Terrier’ for ‘OO’


The London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Stroudley ‘Terrier’ 0-6-0T is the latest ready-to-run ‘OO’ gauge locomotive to be commissioned by retailer Rails of Sheffield. The announcement comes just four weeks after it revealed it would be producing the Caledonian Railway ‘812’ 0-6-0 for ‘OO’ (HM130).

The ‘Terrier’ is being made by Dapol for Rails and six of the first batch of seven will be available through Rails and Dapol while the seventh will be an exclusive product for the National Railway Museum through

Planned for release in 2019, and with decorated samples expected in time for Warley in November 2018, the locomotives selected for the first batch are ‘A1’ 82 Boxhill in Stroudley improved engine green with a gloss finish for the National Railway Museum (Cat No. 4S-NRM-001) together with 82 Boxhill in the same livery without a gloss finish (4S-010-001), ‘A1’ Bodiam in KESR blue (4S-010-002), ‘A1X’ 751 in South Eastern and Chatham Railway colours (4S-010-003), ‘A1X’ 2644 in Southern lined green (4S-010-004), ‘A1X’ 32655 in BR lined black with early crests (4S-010-005) and ‘A1X’ 32661 in BR black with late crests (4S-010-006).

DCC ready models will cost £110, DCC fitted £140 and DCC sound fitted £239.
