Heljan shows Class 07 decoration samples


Heljan has revealed images of the first decorated samples of its new ‘OO’ gauge model of the BR Class 07 diesel shunter.

The fleet of 14 0-6-0s, best known for its service at Southampton Docks, was introduced in 1962 with the last withdrawn from BR service in 1977. Some went into industrial service and seven have been preserved.

Heljan’s ‘OO’ gauge model will feature an 8-pin DCC decoder socket and be available in eight versions plus a ninth as an exclusive limited edition for Hatton’s together with original and airbrake fitted locomotives.

Original condition locomotives consist of D2985 in BR green with wasp stripes (Cat No. 2900), D2990 in BR green with wasp stripes (2901), D2992 in BR blue with wasp stripes (2903) and 07010 in BR blue with wasp stripes (2904). Airbrake fitted models cover 2993 in BR blue with wasp stripes (2910), 07005 in BR blue with wasp stripes (2911), 07001 in Peakstone yellow (2912), and 07003 in British Industrial Sand white (2913). The Hatton’s limited edition models 07001 with airbrakes in Harry Needle Railroad Company colours (2930).

Prices are set at £139.00 per locomotive with release anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2017.
