Minerva displays ‘Pannier’ sample

Minerva Models has revealed the first full engineering sample of its developing ‘O’ gauge model of the GWR ‘8750’ 0-6-0PT which is due to be released during the summer.

The model is due to undergo further refinement before entering production including revision to the fitting of the balancing pipe between the tanks (missing from this sample). Minerva says it has tested the 0-6-0PT on Peco set track curves and it is also being fitted with an 8-pin DCC decoder socket and provision for the installation of sound.

On release the ‘8750’ will be available with and without top-feed in a selection of GWR green and BR black liveries. The bunker steps, toolboxes, whistle shields, bufferbeam pipes, cab roof handrail and ATS boxes will be supplied in a detailing pack together with a bucket and fire irons.

The model is on target for release in July 2017 priced at £265 for a DCC ready version, £320 DCC fitted and £390 DCC sound fitted. It is available to order directly from Minerva Models Railways or by phoning 02920 531246.

Minerva is also developing the GWR ’57XX’ 0-6-0PT with welded and riveted tanks and these are expected to be delivered between October and December 2017.
