Oxford Rail adds ‘N7’ and more for 2017

Oxford Rail has announced that it will be producing new ‘OO’ gauge ready-to-run models of the LNER ‘N7’ 0-6-2T, LMS ‘Warwell’ bogie well wagon and BR 35ton Class B oil/fuel tanker for release in 2017-2018. The projects were revealed at the London Toyfair on January 24.

The ‘N7’ is the third steam locomotive to be announced by Oxford Rail with its second – the GWR ‘Dean Goods’ 0-6-0 – expected to arrive in the shops during February. The ‘N7’ will be supplied DCC ready with an 8-pin socket or with factory fitted sound with plans to cover Great Eastern Railway, London North Eastern Railway and British Railways liveries in the first round of releases.

Oxford also revealed that it would be producing the GWR AA3 20ton ‘Toad’ brake van, built 1889-1901, to go with its diagram AA1 six-wheel ‘Toad’.

The Toyfair also saw the debut of decorated BR Mk 3 carriage samples, new seven-plank, six-plank and four-plank open wagon liveries, a series of new LNER 8ton cattle wagons and the latest decorated samples of Oxford’s 57ft Carflat wagons.

See HM117 – on sale February 9 2017 – for a full report on the Oxford Rail announcements.
