Bachmann launches 2017 catalogue

Bachmann Europe Plc has launched its 2017 ‘OO’ gauge Bachmann Branchline and ‘N’ gauge Graham Farish catalogues featuring 11 brand new items across the two ranges and more than 160 new items across the ranges.
Headlining the new tooling for ‘OO’ are the Midland Railway Johnson ‘1532’ 0-4-4T, Direct Rail Services’ Class 20/3 Bo-Bo diesel and BR (SR) Class 410 4-BEP Electric Multiple Unit, while ‘N’ gauge additions include a Stanier ‘8F’ 2-8-0, Wainwright ‘C’ Class 0-6-0 and refurbished BR Class 31 A1A-A1A diesel.

The Class 20/3 will join Bachmann’s ‘OO’ range in 2017.

New rolling stock highlights include BR 63ft Mk 1 ‘Carflat’ wagons, VEA ‘Vanwide’ ventilated vans and BR ‘Prestwin’ Twin Silo bulk powder wagons for ‘OO’. In ‘N’ gauge LNER Thompson coaches and retooled 100ton TEA bogie tank wagons are joining the range.

2017 also marks the 30th anniversary since British Rail’s Railfreight Sector was formed, and to celebrate Bachmann will be introducing a selection of appropriately liveried locomotives and freight rolling stock in the bold colour scheme.
Other highlights from the new catalogues include Class 37/0 37099 Merl Evans 1947-2016 with retooled nose ends for ‘OO’, Class 66 66799 Evening Star in GB Railfreight lined BR green in ‘OO’ and ‘N’ and a return of BR Standard ‘9F’ 92220 Evening Star in BR lined green with late crests for ‘OO’.

Spearheading the range of train sets and packs is a new special edition Avro Vulcan XH588 collectors train pack containing Class 37/4 37558 Avro Vulcan XH558 and a pair of exclusive 1:144 scale Vulcan aircraft for both ‘N’ and ‘OO’.

A third version of the Class 40 has been announced for ‘N’ gauge with split headcodes.

Finally, Bachmann’s Scenecraft range is bolstered with more than 45 new ‘OO’ and 14 new ‘N’ gauge resin cast buildings and lineside structures including an impressive collection of ‘OO’ gauge buildings based on those at March in Cambridgeshire.
