Hornby shows final ‘B12’ sample

 

Hornby has received the final approved sample of its soon to be released model of the LNER ‘B12/3’ 4-6-0 for ‘OO’ gauge.

Announced at the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition in November 2015, the model is currently on target to go on sale during late November and early December with a retail price of £159.99.

Three versions are being released initially covering 8573 in LNER lined apple green (Cat No. R3430), 61533 in BR lined black with early crests (R3431) and 61580 in BR lined black with late crests (R3432).

Each features a boiler mounted motor and drive system together with a tender mounted 8-pin DCC decoder socket. NEM coupling pockets with small tension locks will be provided front and rear with the tender to locomotive connection being provided by a permanently fitted drawbar.
