Dapol reveals ‘Jinty’ for ‘O’

 

Dapol has added a fourth locomotive to its ‘O’ gauge portfolio with announcement of the Fowler ‘Jinty’ 0-6-0T at its recent open day.

The new model is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2017 with prices starting from £225 for a DCC ready version and rising to £400 for a DCC sound fitted version. The model is already in the CAD/CAM development stage with a 3D printed version of the body displayed at the open day.

The specification calls for a die-cast running plate, compensated chassis, flickering firebox effect, removable cab roof for the addition of crews, sprung buffers, screw coupling, a 21-pin DCC decoder socket and un-numbered versions.

Five main models will be released covering early LMS black (Cat No. 72-026-001), late LMS black (7S-026-002), Somerset and Dorset blue (7S-026-003), BR black with late crests (7S-026-004) and a British Railways black version (7S-026-005). In addition an exclusive model as 47383 in BR black with early crests will be produced for the Dapol Collectors Club while 16410 in LMS livery, as preserved, will made as a limited edition for DCC Supplies.
