Dean Goods, Mk 3s and new wagons from Oxford

Oxford Rail has revealed that it is developing a new ‘OO’ gauge ready-to-run model of the GWR ‘Dean Goods’ 0-6-0 for release towards the end of 2016. The announcement came at the London Toyfair on January 24-26 along with three new wagons and a collection of BR Mk 3 carriages.

The ‘Dean Goods’ is to be produced in GWR and BR liveries and will feature a locomotive drive mechanism and tender mounted 8-pin DCC decoder socket. The first engineering sample of the model was displayed at the Toyfair.

Also on display were first samples of the new LNER cattle wagon, North Eastern Railway six-plank open wagon and North British Railway four-plank open wagon for ‘OO’ scale. These are to be released in a selection of private owner and railway owned liveries with prices starting from £9.95.

Completing the line up for 2016 is Oxford’s plans to produce a brand new range of BR Mk 3 carriages. Exact vehicle types, pricing and availability have yet to be announced, but the manufacturer confirmed that they will be available in both HST and locomotive hauled formats and with and without door indictor lights.
