First look at Billinton ‘E4’

Bachmann’s ‘OO’ gauge model of the LB&SCR ‘E4’ 0-6-2T is the latest locomotive to make it to the engineering sample stage.

The models will feature a die-cast chassis, ‘L1’ type boiler, metal handrails, many separately fitted parts including smoke box darts, lamp irons, Westinghouse pump and appropriate detail differences to the era of the model such as lever or screw type reverser.

Four versions are being produced: 579 in LB&SCR umber (Cat No. 35-075), 473 in Southern green (35-076), 32556 in BR black with early emblem (35-077) and 32470 in BR black with late crest (35-078). A 6-pin DCC decoder socket will be fitted to each model.
